PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internet facsimile equipment, such that a useless charge due to address entry mistake is reduced. SOLUTION: When a destination address is received, after the connection of a channel to a domain name server(DNS) (S10: YES), a domain name is segmented from a destination address (S20) and whether or not the domain name is really in existence is inquired of the DNS (S30). Whether its reply is 'the domain is in actual existence' or 'not actually in existence' is checked (S40), and when the result indicate that 'the domain is in actual existence' (S40: YES), transmission of the internet facsimile is processed (S50). When the result in the S40 indicate that 'the domain does not actually exist' (S40: NO), a message denoting the 'the domain name of the address does not actually exist' is displayed on a display device (S60) and the processing is once finished. In this case, image information or the like to be substantially set is not outputted from the equipment 10, even to a relay domain having the DNS. Thus, a wasteful communication cost or the like is saved. |
