PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a partial resonance type power converter with a simple construction. SOLUTION: Main switching devices 3a-3f and flywheel diodes 4a-4f are connected between the positive bus-bar and negative bus-bar of a power conversion unit 2 so as to form a bridge. A resonance capacitor 6 and a resonance reactor 7 are connected in series between the positive bus-bar and the negative bus-bar. When any two (for instance 3a and 3b) among the main switching devices 3a and 3b, 4a and 4b and 5a and 5b are made to practice switching operations, one (for instance 3b) of the switching devices which is in an off-state until that time is turned on and the positive bus-bar and the negative bus-bar are short-circuited to start a resonance operation by the resonance capacitor 6 and the resonance reactor 7. If it is detected that a voltage between the positive bus-bar and the negative bus-bar is turned to a negative voltage, the other switching device (for instance 3a) is turned off to practice the zero-voltage switching. |
