PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a high-purity LSX(low-silica faujasite-type zeolite), and to provide a method for synthesizing such a high-purity LSX in a short time, in particular, a method for producing a high-purity LSX on a large scale in a short time. SOLUTION: This high-purity low-silica faujasite-type zeolite (LSX) with the molar ratio: SiO2 /Al2 O3 of 1.9-2.1 has the following characteristics: given faujasite single phase in the X-ray diffractometry, >=35.0 wt.% in water absorption in the case of Na-type, there are two kinds of the primary particle size, i.e., for smaller particles and larger particles, and the primary particle sizes for the smaller particles and larger particles stand at 1-8μm and 5-15μm, respectively, and the smaller particles account for >=90% of the total particles, The high-purity LSX is produced by the following process: an aluminate-contg. solution and a silicate-contg. solution are mixed with each other followed by gelatinizing the mixture and then performing aging the gel to effect crystallization; wherein zeolite is added to the system before ending the aging, separately from the aimed zeolite to be formed.
