PROCESS CARTRIDGE CONTAINING UNNECESSARY TONER TRANSPORTING AUGER TO PREVENT BANDING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process cartridge of an electrcstatic photograph which is freely attachably and detachably mountable to a hollow section regulated by module groups which are the elements of an electrostatic photographic copying machine and engage with each other. SOLUTION: This process cartridge 44 includes a cleaning sub-assembly 80 for removing and transporting unnecessary toners from an image holding surface. This assembly 80 includes a curving part including a blade mounting surface, a cleaning blade for removing the unnecessary toners from the image holding surface and a sealing member in contact with the image holding surface on an upstream side. The cleaning sub-assembly 80 includes a troughless unnecessary toner transporting auger 170 which is mounted freely rotatably right on the image holding surface within a cleaning chamber and is adapted to transport and move the unnecessary toners from the cleaning chamber in an axial direction with respect to a photoreceptive member. This troughless auger 170 varies in the pitch between a first end 272 and a second end 274 and prevents the banding induced by the accumulation of the unnecessary toners by changing the transporting speed of the toners.
