PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive and highly reliable optical scanner capable of improving unevenness in the distribution of light quantity on a record medium. SOLUTION: Relating to an optical scanner 10 constituted by overfilled type polygon mirror design, an aperture 17 of an aperture plate 16 arranged between a collimeter lens 14 for converting a laser beam made exit from a semiconductor laser 12 into a parallel beam and a concave lens 18 for enlarging an incident laser beam in a scanning direction by combination with an fθlens 24 is shaped so that width in a direction vertical to the scanning direction between both the end parts of the aperture 17 in the scanning direction is longer than that of the center part in the scanning direction.
