A wide-range programmable filter circuit includes an input network (220) inserted between the source and the input port of an analog filter block (210), and an output network (224) inserted between the output port of the filter block (210) and the load (120). The filter block (210) includes variable capacitors (214), but all the inductors (212) which affect the frequency characteristic of the filter are fixed. A controller (218) varies the capacitances in the filter block (210) in order to program a desired frequency, and also varies the resistances introduced by the input and output network (220, 224) in order to maintain proper resistance matching as such capacitance values are varied. |
