A multifunctional closure section (2) for the opening in the top of the bag containing the goods (28) is provided with a tear strip (20) formed by two perforation lines (21,22) in the rear part (9) of this bag closure section, extending at right angles to the rear part side edges (12,14). The bag opening lies level with or below the bottom perforation line (22). The front and rear parts (8, 9) of the bag closure section are secured together along their side edges (11-14) below the tear strip using staples (15,16) that also secure the top section (4) of the bag between the front and rear parts of the bag closure section. The hole (19) in the bag closure section for hanging the packaging in a display stand is located above the tear strip. The front part of the bag closure section and the area of the rear part beneath the bag opening edge (23) formed after removing the tear strip are bent apart when pressure is applied to the opposing side edges, in order to form a free passage between the space inside the bottom section of the bag and the bag opening in the top section of the bag. Releasing this pressure will result in the bag closure section returning to its flat state, allowing it to be hung from the display stand. Preferably, the front and rear parts of the bag closure section are formed by flat pieces of stable, flexible sheet material (e.g. paper) and are joined together along the top edge (10) of this section. |
