PURPOSE:To automatically correct the shift of a joint part at low cost by overlapping the ends of respective scanning areas by adjacent reading sensors and detecting and removing overlapped data part. CONSTITUTION:By simultaneously operating reading units 3-1, 3-2 and 3-3, image data 6-1, 6-2 and 6-3 resulted from reading partially overlapped division scanning areas 4-1, 4-2 and 4-3 are stored in a buffer 5, respectively. An overlapped data detection part 7 detects the overlapped part on the boundary between the image data 6-1 and 6-2 and determines overlapped data 6-1a and 6-2a. Similarly, it determines the overlapped data 6-2b and 6-3b for the overlapped part on the boundary between the image data 6-2 and 6-3. An overlapped data removal part 8 removes either one of the overlapped data from the image data 6-1 to 6-3, that is, removes 6-1a and 6-2b and joins the remaining data, for example, and generates data of one line width length which have non- overlapped joint part and outputs them. |
