One or more lamps (10) on a mounting plate (20) fixed to the boot's front wall (30) normally shine, during braking, through a transparent panel (18) in the upturned front of the boot lid (14), to act as high level repeaters, below the rear window (12), to the regulation brake warning lights. The opaque section (38) of a flap fixed to the boot lid prevents light entering the boot. The flap's transparent front section (36), lying under the mounting plate, swings back as the boot lid is raised, allowing light from the repeater lamp(s) to enter the boot. The lid movement also operates a change-over switch (48) transferring the lamp feed from the brake pedal switch to a direct battery connection. |
