The cryogenic liquid may be supplied to a conveyor which is packaging liquids in containers using an electrovalve head (9). The valve body (14) receives the cryogenic liquid through an insulated duct (16,18) and there are two distinct passages (19,22) through to the exit (24). Electrically operated actuators (15) are energised (29,30) selectively to open the passages (19,22) to the exit (24). Nitrogen gas at ambient temperature is introduced (17,26) to the valve chamber and acts as a propellant to expel precise doses of the liquid nitrogen. Heating elements (34) prevent icing or condensation.
