The thermostat housing (1) has a thermostat module (13) selectively closing the path to the radiator in response to the temperature of the coolant. The housing is formed with the fluid conduit in a single piece, moulded from a plastics material, with the thermostat module immobilised in the conduit by an insert (15-18).
