PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize effective deodorization without using 4 expensive parts such as a blowing means or a cooling means in a refrigerator. SOLUTION: This refrigerator comprises a cold storage compartment 5 having a cabinet 6, an inner box 7 and a door 8, and has a cooler 9 and a drip pan 10 which is arranged below the cooler 9 and has such a shape as to make a partition between the cooler 9 and the cold storage compartment 5. The rear portion of the drip pan 10 is in contact with the inner box 7, and a low- temperature active deodorizing catalyst 2 having a communication hole 11 therein is provided in the cold storage compartment 5. In this manner, cold air which has been cooled by the cooler 9 descends toward the cold storage compartment 5 to cause natural convection therein for cooling the storage with circulation, and returns to an icemaker 12 from the side of the door 8 of the cooler 9. During the airflow, the cold air comes into contact with the low-temperature active deodorizing catalyst 2 having the communication hole 11 which is provided at a portion of a cooled air path A for the drip pan 10, thereby effectively deodorizing the offensive odor-containing air in the storage compartment. |
