PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make easily and accurately graspable the condition of a fault of a magnetic card or the like with a simple constitution, and make it quantitatively analyzable. SOLUTION: With a prepaid card brought into contact with magnetic heads 11-1 to 11-n, a card driving part 17 moves the prepaid card relatively to a magnetic head group consisting of magnetic heads 11-1 to 11-n to scan the magnetic recording surface of the prepaid card by the magnetic head group. Magnetic information signals detected by magnetic heads 11-1 to 11-n are subjected to signal processing and timing correction and are given to a computer 18. The computer 18 displays the detection signal of magnetic information from each of magnetic heads 11-1 to 11-n given through an interface part 15 as a picture so that the position relation may correspond to the magnetic recording surface of the prepaid card.
