PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce time for positioning an IC card and to prevent erroneous connection by detecting a chipped card and changing the positioning method of an IC card so as to avoid executing unnecessary IC contact point operation. SOLUTION: An insertion port sensor 4 detects the IC card 20 and the IC card 20 is placed on a tray 2 from an insertion port 1 to enter the positioning operation of the IC card. In the case of a chipped card, a tray home position sensor 6 detects the shifting from a home position and a main control part positions the IC card 20 with the rear tip of the IC card 20 as reference. Until an IC contact point positioning sensor 5 detects the rear tip of the card, preparatory carrying is executed and a carrying motor is stopped. After then, the carrying motor is eject-started and after prescribed carrying after the detection of the rear tip of the IC card by the sensor 5, the carrying motor is stopped. As unnecessary retrying operation is not executed, a processing time is reduced and an erroneous connection with the IC card is prevented. |
