PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the loss of light caused by a gap or irregular reflection by connecting a filter chip between the obliquely ground end faces of two ferrules while sandwiching it. SOLUTION: Two ferrules 2, to which optical fibers 1 are inserted and adhered, obliquely grinding their end faces are accurately connected by a split sleeve 4 as a ferrule connecting member and between their obliquely ground end faces (k), a filter 3 is sandwiched. As the optical fiber 1, various kinds of optical fibers are used and as the ferrule, the ferrule made of ceramic, for example, is used. The obliquely ground end face (k) is an oblique plane ground end face, for example, the split sleeve 4 is a metallic or ceramic sleeve structured by providing a split (w) at one part of lengthwise direction while designing its inner diameter a little shorter than the outer diameter of the ferrule 2. Concerning the filter 3, the metal, thin film of a filter film is formed on a thin glass pane or plastic film by vapor deposition. |
