摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an optical fiber temperature sensor of high sensitivity, by using dyes different in peak luminescence wavelength and luminescence temperature dependency. SOLUTION: A challenge signal from a laser 1 excites two kinds of dyes in dye doped part 5, and makes the dyes radiate luminescence. Some of the luminescence is captured in a fiber 3 by total internal reflection, and propagates along the fiber 3, in the reverse direction. Luminescence light which reversely travels toward an introducing end is colimated by an introducing lens 7. Then, the luminescence light is divided into two beams, which pass two different BPF's 9. The BPF's 9 transmit the beams to the respective regions of peak luminescence wavelengthsλ1 andλ2 and eliminate scattered lights and lights in the other peak luminescence wavelength regions. The two transmission beams are detected by photomultiplier tubes 11. A processing unit specifies the intensity ratio of the two beams, and calculates a temperature by comparing the ratio with a calibration curve.</p>
