PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a portable telephone set to able to use an optimum calling method in response to the arrival of an incoming call depending on a state of failing to catch an incoming call tone. SOLUTION: This portable telephone set is provided with a calling mode automatic changeover section 12 independently of a control section 7. The calling mode automatic changeover section 12 counts the number of failures to catch an incoming call tone informed by a vibrator 10 (vibrator mode) continuously. The calling mode automatic changeover section 12 controls changeover of the calling mode of a mode changeover section 8 from the vibrator mode (vibrator 10) into an alert mode (speaker 9), when the number of consecutive counts of failure to catch incoming calls reaches a prescribed number of times. |
