SYNCHRONIZATION METHOD AND DIGITAL COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To completely remove the effects of random data symbols adjacent to a reference symbol by obtaining a correlation value between the reference symbol and the delayed reference symbol for detecting the peak of the correlation value. SOLUTION: A correlation window is short by just a circularly extended portion and a phase-shifted pattern. Several synchronous patterns are phase- shifted, and therefore the size of the peak of a correlation value slightly reduces as a result that offset occurs at the peak of the correlation value. The influence of the differential change point of the synchronous pattern is guaranteed by phase-shifting the final synchronous pattern of the reference symbol. A maximum detection peak does not shift in a right direction. When the phase of the synchronous pattern at the head of the reference symbol is inverted or when a guard period is extended by circularly copying a sample, the effects of the differential change point of the head synchronous pattern which is phase-shifted guarantees that the maximum detection peak does not shift in the left direction.
