<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the deterioration of cell transfer rates and overflow of a reception buffer provided to a PHY layer device. SOLUTION: In a method for controlling ATM(asynchronous transfer mode) layer device, an ATM layer device 1 which realizes the function of such an ATM layer that selects a prescribed one out of a plurality of PHY layer devices 21 -2n which realize the functions of physical layers and transfers a cell which is an information transmitting unit between the layer and the selected PHY layer device is controlled. At the time of controlling the device 1, the priority information indicating the priority of a plurality of preset PHY layer devices is held and the PHY layer devices which transfer cells are selected in prescribed order in accordance with the priority information.</p> |
