<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an interface between a LAN and an asynchronous transfer mode system by constituting the device so that each member of an emulated LAN can send a packet to an asynchronous transfer mode switch connected so as to be dispatched to all the other members of the ELAN. SOLUTION: Each member of an ELAN is enabled to send a packet to an asynchronous transfer mode switch connected so as to be dispatched to all the other members of an emulated LAN by replicating a packet and using a point to multi-point connection. To a data bus 11 of this interface device 10, an ASIC 13 is connected. Also, the device 10 includes memories 14 and 15, an internal data bus 16, a microprocessor 17 and a related memory 18 that are connected to the ASIC 13 by the internal data bus 19, a segmentation connected to the ASIC 13, an assembly system 21 or the like as well as the ASIC 13.</p> |
