PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for deciding the quality of a capacitor accurately in a short time. SOLUTION: A DC voltage is applied to a capacitor to be tested (S1) and the inclinationα1 ,α2 ,... of charging current characteristics is determined at a plurality of times t1 , t2 ,... in the charging region of dielectric polarization component of the capacitor (S2). A decision is made whether the capacitor is acceptable or not by comparing the difference of inclinationα1 -α2 with set values A1 , A2 (S3).
