摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain such a radiant tube arranging relation that radiant tubes can be heated uniformly not only in the length direction of the tubes, but also in the arranging direction of the tubes. SOLUTION: A heating furnace uses radiant tubes provided with a heat accumulating burner system that is equipped with heat accumulating burners which alternately perform the discharge of an exhaust gas and supply of combustion air through a heat accumulating body at both ends of the radiant tubes and alternately burns the burners as a heating source. The radiant tubes are arranged at pitch Lp which falls within such a range that simultaneously satisfies that the ratio of the effective surface area ratio ... between adjacent radiant tubes to (tube pitch/tube diameter)<1/4> is in the vicinity of the maximum value and that the ratio &xi; of the heat flux of an object to be heated immediately below each tube given by the direct radiation from two radiant tubes to the heat flux of an object between the tubes is nearly '1'.
