Use of metronidazole-free composition for treating rosacea

Metronidazole-free composition comprising fatty acids, alkoxylated fatty acids, glycerides, fatty acid esters, glycerol, fatty alcohol and water is used to prevent and/or treat rosacea. Use of a composition comprising ingredients (i)-(vii) in the preparation of a metronidazole-free composition for preventing and/or treating rosacea: (i) 1-5 wt.% 12-14C fatty acid(s); (ii) 5-15 wt.% alkoxylated 12-14C fatty acid(s) containing 2-100 2-3C alkylene oxide units; (iii) 1-20 wt.% 12-22C fatty acid glyceride(s) containing 0-20 alkylene oxide units; (iv) 1-20 wt.% ester(s) of a 12-14C fatty acid and a 1-6C alcohol; (v) 0.1-10 wt.% glycerol; (vi) 0.1-3 wt.% 12-24C fatty alcohol; and (vii) 50-85 wt.% water.
