The receptacle (1) is fitted with a disposable and impermeable bag (3) which covers at least its inner surface so that it does not become soiled during use. It can be used in conjunction with a support (13) with a slot for the receptacle's handle (5) to fix it in a suitable position for fitting the disposable bag to it. The disposable bag can have a number of adhesive elements to fasten it to the receptacle, and it can be positioned inside the receptacle with the aid of a suitable tool. When used as a bedpan a piece of toilet paper can be placed inside the bag to prevent faecal material from adhering to it.
