<p>An apparatus for providing a roof structure (10) of the type having a plurality of purlins (14) spaced apart from one another in a parallel arrangement is disclosed. The purlins (14) have a generally vertical portion (18). The space between the vertical portions (18) of adjacent purlins (14) defines an insulation cavity (50) which is generally rectangular in cross-sectional shape. The apparatus includes a carriage (20) which is movable along the length of the purlins (14) for dispensing a support sheet (24) from a roll (38) for support of insulation material (36). As the carriage (20) travels along the length of the purlins (14), the support sheet (24) is dispensed so that the support sheet (24) depends from the top portion (16) of adjacent purlins (14). The apparatus further includes a first bar (30) and second bar (32) having a curvilinear shape which are mounted on the carriage (20) and extend across the width of the support sheet (24). The first bar (30) and second bar (32) are positioned so that the support sheet (24) contacts and is guided by the first bar (30) and second bar (32) as the support sheet (24) is dispensed. The curvilinear shapes of the first (30) and second (32) bars modify the cross-sectional shape of the support sheet (24) to substantially conform to the shape of the insulation cavity (50) as the support sheet (24) is dispensed.</p> |
