The invention relates to a method for producing alkylene glycol, according to which a reaction mixture containing an alkylene oxide or a mixture of two or more alkylene oxides as well as water and a catalyst triggering dissociation in water is reacted. In this way a product mixture containing alkylene glycol is obtained which is then purified by means of electrodialysis.
