SPACED POCKET FILTER ASSEMBLY AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING SAME

A spaced pocket filter assembly (10) has a pocket (12) secured to a holding frame (14) and a spacing member (22) within the pocket (12) made of a single sheet of material. The spacing member (22) has an alternately folded Z or zig zag configuration and is secured to the interior of the pocket (12) along each of the fold lines (34). The pocket assembly (10) can be manufactured by interposing a roll of a sheet media (62) for the spacing member (22) between rolls (56, 58) of filter media for the pocket (12). The spacing member media (60) is folded into the Z or zig zag configuration, layered between the pocket media (12), and secured to the pocket media (12) continuously along the fold lines (34).
