The device for a container which can be heated by a heating device to be switched off at a certain temperature, is to be arranged in the region of the wall of the container, and has a switch device (11) which can be coupled mechanically to the wall and can be triggered by the deformation of the wall according to the temperature. The switch device operates a switch contact with the triggering. The switch device is arranged on the wall and especially able to be fastened to it. The switch devices are current-conducting and electrically insulated from the wall, which is preferably metallic. The switch device is designed to convert a deformation of the wall into a movement, especially by bending outwards, at least partially elastically.
