Mast raising procedure for use in high voltage overhead line construction

An erection tower (10) is constructed within the mast. The section of mast to be raised (2) is secured to the tower by high tension cables passing through gripping pulleys at the top of the tower. Stabilizing cables (24,25) are attached to the section to be raised. The mast can now be raised and the lower section (1) removed and replaced with a new taller section. The two sections can then be secured.
