Image signal electrodes are so formed on a flexible printed circuit board around developer passing holes as to face a developer carrier. A voltage applied when dots are formed is different from a voltage when dots are not formed. Aperture electrodes are so formed on the flexible printed circuit board as to face opposed electrodes. A voltage consistently lower than the voltage applied to the image signal electrodes is applied when a negative polarity developer is used; in contrast, a voltage consistently higher than the voltage applied to the image signal electrodes is applied when a positive polarity developer is used.
|
