Method for producing a sliding component, and resultant eddy current generator for a fuel injection valve

An eddy current generator is produced by die casting a compacted powder material, degreasing, sintering and heat treating. The method consists of the following steps: a) die-casting (100) of a compacted element out of mixture which consists of a powder material equivalent to SUS440C, graphite and a bonding agent; b) degreasing (101) by heating of the compacted element in a neutral atmosphere to remove practically all bonding agent from it; c) sintering (102) by heating the element under a vacuum of 0.1333 Pa or better from room temperature to 1000 deg C to reduce the oxygen content of the element to less than 0.02 %. This is followed by heating of the element in an argon atmosphere at pressures from 1333.3 to 3999 Pa for two hours, after which the temperature is raised to 1250 deg C.
