<p>An assembly and attachment of cushions wherein premolded skins (10, 12) of elastomeric materials are bonded together. In a first embodiment, a thin layer of elastomer (16) is added at the points of connection of the elastomeric skins. In a second embodiment, the cushion formed by the attachment of two elastomeric skins is mounted to a receiving surface by a layer of elastomer formed between one elastomeric skin and a receiving indentation integrally formed in the skin. A third embodiment reinforces the mounting arrangement of the second embodiment by positioning an O-ring (44) around the indentation. A fourth embodiment uses a layer of elastomer formed between one elastomeric skin and the receiving indentation and the O-ring reinforces the mounting arrangement. A method for bonding together premolded skins of elastomeric material is also disclosed.</p> |
