Bonding parts with plastics microstructures to form open cavities involves applying organic solvent and removing this at low pressure after brief contact. Process for bonding 2 parts, at least the first of which has plastics microstructures with smallest dimensions less than 1 mm on the surface to be bonded, involves : (a) applying organic solvent(s) for the plastics between the parts; (b) contacting the parts so that most of the cavities between the microstructures are in contact with the environment; and (c) after a short dwell. removing (most of) the solvent at low pressure. An Independent claim is also included for components consisting of at least 2 bonded parts, which are made in this way and have cavities, most of which are connected with the environment.
