An image processor for observing optical fibers, which is used by being built in a system of a fusing/connecting apparatus of optical fibers, and which is capable of outputting signals of images from a television camera (1) to a television monitor (2), processing the images from the television camera (1) and outputting desired information about the optical fibers (4a, 4b) shown on the images. This image processor is provided with a scanning/conversion unit (5) capable of turning 90~ the images from the television camera (1) and outputting them to the television monitor (2). Therefore, the images shot by the television camera placed vertically can be converted by 90~ and received on the television monitor placed horizontally.
