The invention relates to a method for processing cast metal products. In order to produce products with optimum surface finish without the major expenditure on machinery which is otherwise customary, it is envisaged that the cast products coming from at least one casting installation should be temporarily stored essentially in flat form, then milled in succession in a single installation and passed directly into a single cold-rolling installation. The installation for arrangement on the delivery side of at least one casting installation for the metal products comprises in each case a roller table following the casting installation or each casting installation, a temporary storage area for the products, a single further roller table with just one following milling machine, and a single, reversible cold-rolling installation immediately following the said milling machine, the cold-rolling installation being provided on both sides with winding wheels and with a coiling drum situated opposite the milling machine.
