The invention relates to radio equipment, more particularly mobile radio equipment with integrated time function. When said radio equipment is situated in a local area with a time zone other than the one in which said radio equipment is normally situated, the time difference between both time zones, which is memorized in a storage, is determined depending on a Local Area Identity Code (LAI). The actual time is then detected and shown on the display of said mobile radio equipment. Thus, the actual time can also be displayed in other countries in a simple and comfortable manner.
