The invention relates to a microdosing device which does not have a volume sensor. The inventive device comprises a pressure chamber (24) which is at least partially limited by a displacement element (10), and an actuating device (30; 60; 100) for actuating said displacement element (10) with which the volume of the pressure chamber (24) can be varied. The device also comprises a media reservoir connected to the pressure chamber, and a control device. The control device drives the microdosing device in such a way that a small change in volume of the pressure chamber is effected per clock unit by a movement of the displacement element (10) from a first position to a predetermined second position. During a first movement phase of the displacement element, a fluid volume is drawn into the pressure chamber and the same is ejected during a second phase.
