A lavatory cleansing block having a perceived approximately constant intensity of fragrance throughout the life of the block, comprises an inner region 2 comprising an inner fragrance and an outer region 3 comprising an outer fragrance which is different from said inner fragrance, the inner fragrance being present in a concentration by weight which is less than or equal to 1.1 times the concentration of the outer fragrance.
