Castor with variable inclination of swivel axis

A castor 6 for eg a supermarket trolley is mounted to the leg 4 of the trolley through a mounting plate 10 and rubber bush 12 whereby, as the weight load on the trolley increases, the bush flexes and the inclination angleα' of the castor swivel axis to the vertical increases. The mounting plates of a pair of such castors may be interconnected by a tie-bar 14 to help equalise the inclination of both axes. Such castors may be used as front and/or rear wheels and a central non-castor wheel may be provided between the pair to increase stability under heavy loading.
