The method involves activating a pump and driving a valve arrangement driven with predefined drive signals in certain vehicle states. Whilst the pump and valve arrangement are actuated, a wheel parameter, especially a rotation parameter, is determined for a wheel. The braking system is checked for a first and/or second fault depending on the parameter which may be wheel slip and/or rotation rate. |
