PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a primer compsn. which exhibits a very high adhesive power even when exposed to an alkali which migrates from a coated article, e.g. in the case when the compsn. is applied to molded ceramics, concrete, etc. SOLUTION: This compsn. contains a copolymer which has a glass transition temp. of 35 deg.C or higher and a number average mol.wt. of 6,000 or higher and is formed from (a) a monomer having a carbon-bonded reactive silyl group represented by the formula (wherein R<1> is H or 1-10C alkyl; R<2> is H, 1-10C alkyl, aryl or aralkyl; and a is 0, 1 or 2), (b) an alkyl (meth)acrylate monomer having a 10C or higher alkyl group, and (c) other copolymerizable monomers. |
