<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper afterprocessing device that can accurately align a sheaf of paper at the time of stapling regardless of the state of punched holes. SOLUTION: A punching unit is provided upstream of a stapling tray 21. When both of a punching mode and a stapling mode are executed, a punched hole is first opened in paper by the punching unit, and then paper is stacked on the stapling tray 21. In such a case, width to be aligned by jogger fences 9 is made large to impart aligning force to paper, and return action time by a return roller 5 is also made long.
