<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved hydrogen chloride absorbent with which absorptivity of hydrogen chloride is improved when a gas containing hydrogen chloride is treated by using a hydrogen chloride absorbent essentially comprising sodium bicarbonate. SOLUTION: This hydrogen chloride absorbent comprises 50 to 99 wt.% sodium bicarbonate power having 5 to 50μm average particle size and 1 to 50 wt.% basic magnesium carbonate having 5 to 50μm average particle size. In this method, by adding the sodium bicarbonate to the basic magnesium carbonate, not only the sodium bicarbonate is prevented from caking but the purification performance for hydrogen chloride gas can be improved, and therefore, the efficiency of a conventional method can be largely increased.</p> |
