<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a separating agent capable of separating and collecting a halogenated ethylene compound selectively and efficiently from a mixed solution or the like which includes the halogenated ethylene compound by forming the separating agent out of a specific inclusion host compound. SOLUTION: The objective separating agent comprises a separation host compound selected from 2,2'-bis(2-chlorophenyl)-4,4',5,5'-tetraphenyl-1,2'-imidazole of formula I, diphenic acid bis(dicyclohexylamide) of formula II and 4-t- butylcalizarenes of formula III [R is t-butyl; (n) is 1-7]. Tetrachloroethylene, trichloroethylene or the like are cited as (B) halogenated ethylene compounds to be separated. The separation method comprises, for example, adding the component A to a mixed solution containing the component B, heating and dissolving the component A at 50-70 deg.C, and recrystallizing the component A to provide an inclusion compound. The amount of the component A used is preferably regulated so that the molar ratio of the components A:B may be about (1:0.1) to (1:10).</p> |
