PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a constable heat insulating refractory material which forms a body having a uniform structure without causing separation due to gravity and having excellent structural strength and corrosion resistance. SOLUTION: This material is produced by adding thermoplastic resin sphere hollow particles having 5 to 200 μm average particle size. The add. amt. of the thermoplastic resin sphere hollow particles is 0.005 to 1 pt.wt. to 100 pts.wt. of refractory aggregates. Or, by using 1 to 3 wt.% magnesia and the balance alumina as the refractory aggregates, the effect is more significant. The thermoplastic resin sphere hollow particles preferably consist of acrylonitrile polymers and/or copolymers having a high acrylonitrile content. |
