发明名称 INORGANIC SINTERED POROUS COMPACT
摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a member excellent in gas permeability, having very high mechanical strength and suitable for a filter by compacting and sintering a mass of inorg. particles without using an auxiliary to form an inorg. sintered porous compact having a specified thickness and a specified porosity. SOLUTION: A mass of inorg. particles is compacted and sintered without adding an auxiliary to obtain the objective inorg. sintered porous compact having 0.4-1.5 mm thickness and 10-40% porosity. The inorg. particles are preferably high purity a-alumina having 0.3-0.5 &mu;m average primary particle diameter. The sintering is preferably carried out by a spark plasma sintering method. Since the inorg. sintered porous compact has such high mechanical strength as >=5.0 kg/mm<2> bending strength, it is suitable for use as a filter material in spite of its small thickness. The compact is produced in a good yield because the mechanical strength is high and secondary working is not necessary.
