PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To identify an indicated address number accurately and rapidly by preparing a candidate character lattice of candidate characters converted to a wild card showing optional figures based on the candidate figures of a candidate character lattice, and collating the words of the indicated address number represented by the wild card with the words of a lattice of the wild card. SOLUTION: A street region collation part 111 in a knowledge processing part 110 produces a candidate character lattice based on character identification results, and information on the street region of an address and information relative to the display of an old address are extracted using the candidate character lattice. Next, an indicated address number collation part 112 extracts an indicated address number from the candidate character lattice. After that, the candidate character lattice is entered to the indicated address number collation part 112. Then the head character number entered of a region where the indicated address number of the candidate character lattice is written, is extracted. Following this procedure, a wild card lattice is produced based on the candidate character lattice to produce an automation for word collation. The words for the indicated address number are collated with the automation using the automation and dictionaries 115, 116. |
