PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal recording material being excellent in the resistance of a developed color image to a plasticizer and water and in a long-term shelf life. SOLUTION: This thermal recording material has a sheetlike base and a thermal color development layer which is formed at least on one surface of this sheetlike base and contains a colorless or light-colored dye precursor and a developer which develops the color of this dye precursor in reaction therewith in heating. The developer has solubility of 0.1 g/100 g or below in dioctyl phthalate at 25 deg.C and of 0.05 g/100 g or below in water at 25 deg.C. |
