PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new polynucleotide having a high identity to a nucleic acid encoding an HLIG-1 polypeptide of a specific amino acid sequence and useful for the treatment, diagnosis, etc., of Alzheimer diseases, multiple sclerosis, endocrinopathy, heart diseases, etc. SOLUTION: This new isolated polynucleotide comprises a nucleotide sequence encoding a polypeptide at least 80% identical to a nucleotide sequence encoding a human LIG-1 homologue (HLIG-1) polypeptide represented by the formula over the entire length and having the activity of the HLIG-1 polypeptide or a nucleotide sequence complementary to the nucleotide sequence and is useful for the treatment, diagnosis, etc., of neuropathy such as Alzheimer's disease, multiple sclerosis and abnormal nervous development, endocrinopathy, heart diseases, etc. The polynuleotide is obtained by using a standard cloning and screening and further using an expression sequence tag(EST) analysis from a cDNA library derived from a cell of a human brain, etc. |
