TREATMENT OF HEAVY OIL TYPE COMBUSTION ASH

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently separate and recover vanadium or the like from heavy oil type combustion ash. SOLUTION: This treatment method has a process forming an aq. slurry of heavy oil type combustion ash, a process for oxidizing vanadium in the aq. slurry under an acidic condition, a precipitation process adding ammonia to the aq. slurry thereafter to precipitate a vanadium compd. and a process for recovering the precipitated vanadium compd. by solid-liquid separation. Pref. a process for re-dissolving the precipitated vanadium compd. and a process for again precipitating the re-dissolved vanadium compd. are provided between the precipitation process and the recovery process.
